Add another ore to Caves & Cliffs

I don't care WHAT another ore is or what it does, it just needs to be useful to a survival mode player! We're getting an entire update revolving around mining, and we get just ONE ore with really obscure uses? It'll be especially weird if we get an entire biome revolving around running from a scary Warden only to just open chests like any other structure (which, according to Ask Mojang, is what they have planned). When I play a cave game, I want something to mine!

    I don't nececaraly think a new ore is needed if they add new uses to copper, but what would be REALLY cool is adding new geodes and crystals, which would add some real fun to discovering those kinds of things.

    I would recommend withe ruby or cobalt as a new bluestone version of redstone to make more unique redstone contraptions. And ruby can be used in trading or enchanting somehow

    Like amethyst? It's pretty rare, and has some very obscure uses.

    I agree add more ores like titanium and a lot more Minecraft step up your game literally

    Biome specific ores would be really cool. It would certainly add strategy to mining. Imagine if lush caves had a unique ore, similar to how the underground jungle in Terraria has chlorophyte. Perhaps the lush cave could have an ore that is useful in farming somehow. A special ore in the deep dark would be awesome, as you would have to be careful about when you mine it in case there is a warden nearby that might hear you.

    new ores don't have to be too unique as long as there will be several or many more new ores. It could be used as a decorative block or what so ever.

    I have some suggestions of new ores... The first would be Malachite, found in a Biome called Crystal Caves. Beyond this ore being exclusive to this biome, it would have a higher chance to spawn Amethist Geodes and Lapis Lazuli, like gold in Mesa. The uses to Malachite would be mostly abpout enchanting and more magic in Minecraft. So, it could be used to alter the enchantment shown in the enchantment table,and when you alter it, consumes the Malachite shard.

    Another use for it would be combining it with Lapis to make a crystal, called  Magic Crystal, that can make a new set of magic armor and tools, that would give the same protection as iron, the durability of diamond armor and would be more suitable to enchantments, costing only 2 levels to enchant anything that previously costed 3 levels or more. It aslo could be repaired with Malachite and Lapis, it doesn´t need to be the formed crystal.

    One final use would be for a Magic Block, also made with Malachite and Lapis, that when put under an Enchanting table would reduce the amount of bookshelfs needed to get lvl 30 by a third. It would also make the table give light level of 14 on a 20 block radius.

    yeah rubies would be a good idea it could be used for magic items

    i definity think they should add more ores since the whole update is based on improving mining

    Your logic confuses me. You say that we are getting one new ore with really obscure uses, so your solution is to add more ores that will likely have even more obscure uses? The cave update has become more than just adding more ores, and i'm glad they did that because it makes it unique. If we add more ores, unless they have a unique, non-decorative use, this game will become too mod-like. Want more ores? Get a mod for it, that's the whole point of mods to begin with. Don't ruin the vanilla game by adding more ores.

    I think an XP ore that drops lots of XP when mined would be great. Looks like stone but with green orbs in it.

    The only other ore I have ever supported adding to the game is tin, and that's because 100 people were literally spamming me to include tin in my bronze post. After that, I gave it 6-7 uses so it wouldn't become insignificant like copper.

    First, Mojang added copper. Even the guy who made this post agrees copper is terrible. And if the one ore that Mojang added is being criticized by so many people, how do you think they would react to an ore that can only "could be used as a decorative block or what so ever." Like what? Topaz? Sapphire? There are literally no builds where you can put these in and make them look good. Metal is a different story, which is why I decided to add tin, but we already have iron, netherite, tin, how many shades of gray can we have before it starts getting overwhelming?

    I will only ever support adding new ores if A: someone convinces me they are special enough to add to the game, something that has only ever been done once in the case of Tin, or B: A new dimension is added. If we ever add the sky dimension or an Aether-type one, sure, bring on your Aether Platinum ore. The overworld doesnt need many more ores.

    Rubies as a secondary emerald would add nothing. "Bluestone" has been rejected for a reason. The only reason anyone has ever asked for Topaz is because it would "look cool."

    NO MORE GEMS!
