Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Showcase Weapons and Tools with Lecterns

Wouldn't it be cool to showcase your enchanted weapons or tools on lecterns?

Similar to how you put books on the lecterns, it would be nice to be able to put more stuff on these interesting blocks. This way, it will give way to more building ideas or new ways to showcase your prized collection. It could also be useful in distinguishing which librarian gives off which enchantment books. 

As good as the item frame is, it does not always fit in with builds and have limited usage in terms of showcasing special tools or weapons you wanted to show off or decorate with. Perhaps a whole new item/block can be used for tools in a similar fashion as lecterns with books. But as for now, it would be a nice feature to be able to put tools and weapons on lecterns.

    either that or some similar display block (it isnt most fitting when lectern has book texture part), like some pedestal, little angled on top where you could put tool or any item really, I would prefer maybe some stone-ish texture for tool/weapon display piece
    or letting us make item frames invisible so we can better mimic such thing
    or on java adding armor stand hands to survival at least
