Caustic Lagoons

Caustic Lagoons This new biome will have water that’s so salty you float instead of sink (kinda like the Dead Sea). Caustic water is a light blue teal color. Flamingos will spawn here and also lay eggs here. Flamingos aren’t affected by the caustic water. Baby flamingos will be born white but over time turn into their true pink form. Red algae can now be introduced into the game. Flamingos will eat the algae thus giving them their pink tone. Flamingos can’t be tamed but can be bred using red algae. Flamingos are quite skittish but can be approached if crouching. Flamingos will spawn in large groups. Flamingos can also fly. Mud can also be introduced into the game being as flamingos webbed feet and one-legged stance help them stand on mud without sinking in it. You can collect caustic water in a bucket that you can then put into a furnace and get salt. You can use salt as a preservative to meat. Meat will now rot over time if not preserved or eaten. You can also make salt blocks out of salt as well. Salt blocks can also generate naturally in the world in small salt deposits underground.

  Cool, but I dislike the rotten meat and salt idea. It would probably just be really annoying, it is already hard enough to find enough food. Other than that great submission!

  What a great idea! I do like the idea of the lagoons and flamingos and salty water, but how would you get red algae? The salt and rotting meat would probably just annoy a lot of people, although maybe rather than getting salt from the furnace, you could get red algae? Maybe through a crafting table. Would love to see more tropical environments ingame!

  Ascyt yea I was trying to find a reason for them to add salt into the game and that’s the only logical thing that came to mind at the time... if you have any other ideas for a use for salt then plz comment I’d love to read your thoughts

  platyjam The red algae would grow there naturally and would also grow in the oceans as well. If you have any suggestions for alternate uses for salt then leave a comment, would love to hear your ideas.
