This Suggestion is from "Is Archaeology Right for Minecraft", a Youtube video by SimplySarc and I loved it so much that I had to suggest it here, in Minecraft Feedback.
Basically, right now, putting ceramic shards on pots is cool and all but a lot of players, including me, will probably only do it like once or twice and forget about it. I don't even really see builders using it in the future. Therefore, I think that there should be a wide variety of ceramic shards with variating rarities, like playing cards. I think it'd be cool for in survival servers with your friends to collect these and maybe trade them with one another. I know that I would personally really like to run around and collect cool and rare ceramic shards to put on to pots and display at the center of my Minecraft base. Right now, there really isn't anything super rare that only you have on Minecraft servers where everyone has full netherite. It would also add another cool level to the game for Minecraft hardcore completionists.
Bonus suggestion: I saw the Ender Dragon drawing on a ceramic shard in the trailer and I think it'd be cool to have a rare variant of that shard that had an Ender Dragon with white skin and blue eyes, as a reference to the "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" playing card.
BTW I still love Minecraft to bits, keep doing what you're doing. I am so excited for the Caves & Cliffs update!
