Seasons

I think there should be seasons in Minecraft like winter,summer, fall, and spring. The seasons should change every 50 Minecraft days. In each season ther should be a special thing happening.

Winter: in winter it should snow a lot and you won’t see a lot of animals. I think animals should be scarce and they should hibernate. Crops outside should die and in winter only an indoor garden is possible. There should be a texture in winter where everything is icy. Also, there should be blizzards and snowstorms that damage you if outside, like in thunderstorms you can sleep through them

Spring: in spring more flowers should spaw and there should be more rain. In the spring there should be more baby animals spawning. There should be new tree textures so that trees can become pink to show that they are blooming. Dead crops can be revived with bonemeal in the spring as well.

summer: in the summer there should be heat and sometimes water sources can disappear. Now all the animals are out and life is normal. Summer should be like Minecraft now.

fall: in the fall there should be a new tree texture where some trees leaves turn red orange and yellow. Now animals are becoming scarce and some food like mushrooms have become very common. For fall there should be acorns and other stuff.   

 

Also there should be new animals like deer and squirrels

    I love this idea! It would be amazing if we played a minecraft world and our trees lost their leaves, it started to snow, more flowers pop up, and more heat exhaustion. I think a suggestion is that players during the summer can get burns from the sun and lose some health.

    I did some fancy math to determine how many days it would be in Minecraft compared to normal length of days IRL, and while I don't remember the exact numbers, I came to the conclusion that copper should weather at least once per season

    This is probably the best idea in the world! But I think in summer there should be you can die because you are very hot.

    This is exactly what I wanted to! I really hope they will ad seasons. And time! The time can be showed at the top at the screen, like in RP games, but you can of course turn it off in the settings.

    i have the same idea but i dont think it should have such dramatic change on the gameplay, it should mainly focus on bringing a perseption of time passing on your world.

    That is an amazing idea, especially for making the leaves turn read, orange... you get the idea. That will surely make an excellent effect!

    Winter is missing freezing effect (in my opinion) there should be clothes like winter hats or coats to keep yourself warm, and maybe campfire would find another use

    Summer is missing overheating effect, if you stay out for too long, you will get a heat thing like u get in powder snow, but maybe yellow or somethin, and then you take demage, and it's not hot in caves, also wildfires now can demage the world

    There sould be seasonal bosses like idk, some winter animal in winter, or spring animal idk

    What do u guys think?

    While some Biomes should get the four Seasons; Spring, Summer, Autumn, and winter; most should instead get two; the longer Wet Season & longer Dry Season.  There should be less rain in the summer, but a bit higher chance of thunderstorms when it does rain in Biomes experiencing the Summer Season. Trees should yield more apples in the summer and fall, but none in the winter.

    The plains, river, mountain, and Swap biome should be coded to be able to generate with either 2 or 4 seasons. However the Mangrove Swamp should never have 4 Seasons, and the regular Swamp Biome should have a decreased chance of having 4 Seasons.  Most, or perhaps all, naturally Generated Oak & Birch forest Biomes definably should be able to experience the Autumn Season, as these would be most likely to benefit. 

    Perhaps when starting a new map, spawn should always be either in the Spring or mid-Wet Season. The wet & dry Seasons should be twice as long as the other 4 seasons.

    Perhaps, all chunks that have been loaded prior to the seasonal update, should have only the wet & dry season.

    I would prefer seasonal biomes. They're static and cannot alter anything in the world, including players' builds and farms, as well as providing permanent blocks for themed builds.

    Minecraft likes to keep game play simple so they probably won't get rid of water sources with extreme heat, there should be biomes that don't have seasons change, like the dessert biome would normally be quite hot so rain there is very rare. the plains biome, coastal village, oak forest, and birch forest should have snow sometime in the gameplay. Places like the snowy biomes, cold beaches and anywhere where there is usually snow year round should have times where snow will melt but not all of it will melt away. Different biomes would have different times for each season that way. Jungle biomes have a more tropical feel to them and they don't seem to have much rain like most tropical places do, I would recommend having more rain in that biome. That's all I have to add thank your for reading if you read it all. :)

    Great idea! I feel like the warmer biomes (like jungles and savannas) should have rainy and dry seasons instead.

    I agree 💯% it would affect the areas where it does rain already and the snowy biomes would get blizzards only. Perhaps some dust/sand storms for desert biomes.

    I would add to the update that leaf blocks could be traversed with some slowdown (similar to how it works with snow blocks). In the case of falling from a great height, you would still absorb part of the impact but wouldn't lose as many hearts.

    It would be great if they included winds that could move objects and even mobs if they were very strong. Depending on the day, there would be air currents, and if storm clouds approach or if you are in a high and cold area, the wind would be more aggressive.

    The last thing I would like to suggest is that clouds are generated in different layers (unlike now, where they are only generated in one layer). It would also be great if they had behaviors like slowly gathering before raining and fixing something that seemed strange to me, making the rain come out of the clouds instead of falling uniformly from the sky as it has been until now.

    Es muy buena idea, mejoraría la calidad del juego, lástima que en mi país solo tenemos dos estaciones (verano e invierno) , en algunos biomas tendría que eliminar estaciones, de esta manera sería parecido al mundo real, es mi opinión.
