This idea has been suggested before, but I've never seen anyone put it on the feedback site, and I know that for some reason you guys aren't allowed to take directly from Reddit. So: Layered Potions; the premise behind this idea is simple. Instituting an ability to put potions in cauldrons, such as in bedrock edition, layered potions should be able to have up to three abilities at a time, but each at a varying level of their duration. If you put two potions in a cauldron, then each is half their normal duration. If you put two of one potion, and then one of another, the *one* input potion is a third of it's original duration, while the first "two"(really only one potion) is two thirds of it's original duration. To put it simply, this can add more strategy to pvp, as many players don't use potions because A) they can't stack, B) they don't do enough to balance not-stacking in the eyes of most players. I'm not suggesting creating overpowered potions, nor stacking them. (Though I think if they do eventually stack it should only be up to 8 and not even 16), and another idea just came from this post--these are connected-- Level III potions that can't normally be up to III. If you add in two harming II potions, it become harming III, and adding it back in just becomes Harming II and II again. In order to obtain 1 bottle from a cauldron, the player would only have to right click as they do with water. In order to obtain a mixed potions, they would need to sneak and right click.
