copper... torches?

i thought it would be nice to have a copper torchish thing. Not like a literal copper torch, but basically a charged lightning rod that gives light. i really liked the soul flames (the blue ones, dunno what theyr called), and its made me realliy like just lighting variation. idk how high of a light level it could have without looking werid, but even something like a jacobs ladder if you put 2 ones that were receiving power together would be cool (i dont know if your working on actually getting power from lightning rods or not tho) 

basically i just want some way to use electricity/plasma as a light source. i think it would be really cool.

  Maybe a purple glow for some time after the lightning rods have been struck?

  It should be green because when copper burns in real life the flame is green
