Shouldn't iron outclass bronze? I like the idea of bronze but I can't see it being any more than just an extra step unfortunately. As much as I'd like to see it as a stepping stone to iron, I don't see that being implemented personally..

This is exactly what I was going to write! Excellent idea, we need more votes... I would rather have Bronze tools and armour then copper because it is more durable. It would look similar to copper but more durable. Copper and waxed copper for blocks; Bronze for tools and armour. It would have higher durability than iron but just slightly less powerful. Personally I think iron should be less easy to find underground and that you should only be able to smelt ores in the blast furnace because in real life you need very high temperatures to smelt most ores.

I don't know man, there really aren't that much uses for Mojang to add 2 new metals at once

I mean, given that you have to mine two ores instead of one, it's probably fair that bronze is better than iron.

Very nice, but if you look back at real history, The Bronze Age came before the Iron Age. Iron is better than Bronze. I had the idea that bronze crafted with a mob head (which would have to changed to be obtainable in survival mode) would create a bronze statue of that mob. Maybe about 2 or 3 blocks tall. And I like the idea that Bronze can be used for some sort of tool, maybe not complete set of tools and armor. But what could be cool, is if they update the villagers again and we get villager soldiers/guards, maybe Bronze Armor can be something that exclusively villagers wear, and they player can gift the armor to them for something in exchange, and that'll be how you trade with soldier villagers.

LizardGizard06 all mob heads except steve are obtainable in survival if a charged creeper explodes the respective mob.

Bronze is harder and stronger than Iron.

Iron is cheap. That's why the Iron Age replaced it.

Unless tin has separate reasons to exist, I want Bronze to fix the feature creep, not increase it, so instead copper and iron makes bronze. If it needs a blast furnace, then diamond tools/armor also need to require specialty equipment, otherwise it won't make sense to make it since it'd be faster to just make diamonds.

Bronze would make better tools than iron, it would make instruments, and as one article suggested, custom music discs - with all the same instruments in the OG discs being possible to make. Copper would be used for bronze, and also weak copper tools if you're desperate so it doesn't feel so useless, like how goats do. Copper could also be used for any future redstone implements, maybe electricity for wireless red stone, or a way to make redstone smaller.

Bronze can be used to make springs, which can be used to heal and build golems (which are now a reasonable thing to actually make, I don't know how they'd balance that but nobody ever uses iron golems as far as I know.) Bronze can be used to make submarines and improved boats. Maybe the FTB paxel. Bronze is also now necessary to make lamps, and it can be used to make mirrored glass (for city builds, very useful)

So better tools, musical instruments, music discs, submarines, boats, springs for golems, mirrors.
