One of the issues mentioned by many people is the expense of copper blocks. Because this is a non-renewable resource that is decorative I wish to present a solution to the problem.
To make copper both renewable and resettable I would like to present the following functionality. Use the brush to un-rust copper. We can do this in real life (although there is a limit as you remove material) and there is a way to theoretically use this to make renewable copper.
When brushed any degraded copper would drop an amount of copper rust dust (let's say 2 per level of weathering) this can then be smelted into copper nuggets. This would first be exponential and honestly quite fun but would still take time requiring mining for early game mega projects.
this would be a method for severs to stockpile on copper so that if they were to not reset after 1.17 there would still be some for new players.
The short of it. Use a brush to reduce copper blocks weathering state. This drops copper dust which then would allow for the following loop.
Copper Block --> Copper Rust Dust --> Copper Nuggest --> Copper Ingot --> Copper Block
