Copper should be able to be used in stonecutter

Copper is currently unable to be used in a stonecutter, even though the use of the stonecutter is to allow for easier crafting of slabs and stairs as well as chiseled variants. Not only should copper stairs and slabs be crafted in it, but it can also be crafted into cut copper in the stonecutter. And even though it is specifically called the stonecutter, it could still cut it because the blade is made of iron and could easily cut it.

    Yes, this is needed. It takes 9 copper ore to make 1 copper block, and then 4 to make the cut version. For an essentially purely decorative resource, copper blocks should be usable in the stonecutter. Having to craft all the variants manually like we used to have to do with stone is not fun.

    Personally, I think the Stonecutter should just become a general-purpose "Cutter" that gets used for ALL slab/stairs/wall recipes, regardless of material.

    I do understand that it is not stone, but keep in mind that banners don't burn even though they are made out of wool and wood. It doesn't all need to apply to the real world. I also think that crafting stairs is a waste.

    Yes! Copper stairs and slabs right now are too expensive. At the time i'm writing this, to make 4 copper stairs, you need 6 copper blocks (54 copper ingots). It's basically impossible to build something with copper right now.

    Copper should be able to be used for beacons, not the cut copper tho

    They should add metal workbenches instead for copper and other types of metal/

    I think that because copper is now crafted from 4 copper ingots instead of 9, and is mainly a building material to give it unique use and aesthetic compared to other metals/ingots, it shouldn't be used in beacons. I think of it as having the same concept as Nether Quartz, though a little better due to the aging factor. I agree that the stonecutter should be remade into a multipurpose cutter, and get a name like the cutlery, for instance. If this they don't want to do that for the sake of the Stone Mason profession, then at least they should fix the stair crafting recipe so that it give you 6 stairs instead of 4.
