Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Sleeping bag

You can sleep in it when exploring and not set a spawnpoint so you spawn at your base if you die

    It should be the size of a block but when clicked on it rolls out into a flat 2x1 area

    This is a necessary edition. A japanese youtuber I watch plays the game blind. He's series does a good job highlighting features in the game that are missing. He can't go long distances without a phantom attacking him because if he sleeps it will reset his spawnpoint.

    This would fit perfectly into 1.19! Mojang seems to want us to go out exploring, and a way to sleep without resetting one's spawn would be quite useful for that. Implementing it in the form of sleeping bags would fit the vibe they seem to be going for with the Wild Update quite well.

    Beds are good for sleeping while travelling, but I haven't thought that they do reset another spawning point too, as well they are more likely to be a furniture piece. I've been thinking that sleeping bags could work the same for the same purpose, without resetting another spawning point now that you mention, but also a way for sleep straightforwardly without placing any block at all if urgently one needs to sleep by simply using it from the hand.

    I like the idea of it not resetting your spawn, so it just acts as a mobile bed. The crafting recipe could be one of the following three ideas: a) 6 wool, b) 6 carpets, or c) a combination of 3 leather and 3 wool/carpets. The carpets or wool would need to be of all the same color, same as the requirement for beds.

    I think it should be able to reset your spawn for 1 use or until picked up that way if your mining or something far down and die you could retrieve your loot quickly and I think it should use wool or hay blocks or maybe just wheat or string somewhere in crafting

    I was thinking it would soft spawn set. If you leave it placed then you can respawn there once, you’d have to place it down again to reset the cycle and if you don’t then your next death would be at the last bed.

    with how they encourage exploration and even phantoms attacking when you don't sleep it seems really necessary to have sleeping bags to travel and sleep and not reset your spawn point. it makes since to me.

    Id like it to be something that you can do just by holding it in your hand too. not having to place down the block then interact with it. just would be better for traveling and keep it more separate from beds. but I could see crouching and clicking making it stay on the ground for decoration and making camps across your land for traveling too.

    A way to keep phantoms away while exploring without resetting spawn. Phantoms keep the player bound to an area, which just doesn't allow exploration easily. Could give the bag durability or something to make sure there is Some incentive to go back or use a normal bed.

    Might require a campfire (stove) and also require a large "You can't sleep while there are monsters" range.

    Crafted with 3 wool on top and 3 leather below- just like a bed, but instead of wood, there is leather
