End crystals right now in PVP are extremely fickle and really make every other weapon and pvp tool, even armor, obsolete. If you practice for 10 minutes, you can use a sword to knock an opponent up 1 block and let off an end crystal, instantly killing someone. If you use slow-falling arrows, you can do this laughably easily, instakilling prot IV netherite users. Melee becomes extremely risky and almost pointless, as you're now trying to just blow them up by knocking them up once or getting them above ground.
If someone is chasing you, you can easily place 1 obsidian and 1 end crystal when you get the low ground and instantly kill them. In the end and nether, you can instantly kill someone (in prot IV Netherite armor) with a bed, which is even easier than an end crystals.
I suggest we could reduce the end crystal/bed damage. This would make them effectively unused in PVP, making ranged weapons and melee the main way pvp would be done. We could also make it instantly kill both players regardless of their legs being covered or not. This could make end crystals a good strategy for suicide-bombing but not for actually winning a fight.
It's not fun playing PVP when you can't chase people because you'll get the highground and be instakilled, and it's not fun or intuitive to get instantly killed with the best armor in the game so easily. Melee should be viable again and instakills should not be so easily accessible.
