I don't like the idea of uranium because I'm pretty sure you can't just find uranium, otherwise life on Minecraft would not exist. Also, it is a little too futuristic for a medieval game.

What would these ores do? How could they improve the game? Adding ores for the sake of them being there is kinda pointless. No matter how cool they are, if they don't add anything meaningful to the game, then what's the point?

Addressing Blastminer9004's comment, Uranium is more common than Silver in real life, and it's not terribly radioactive. Uranium is super dense, and would make for, perhaps a high-knockback weapon. But I don't know how interested Mojang is in adding more weapons and armor right now.

Sapphire and Topaz don't seem particularly useful. Honestly, Amethyst, which has already been added, is pretty useless thus far (aside from making noise, telescopes, and special glass), perhaps we should be trying to figure out what to do with it before we think of adding more gems.

If we are to add more gems/crystals into the game then i would like them to have their uses similar to Amethyst in making more tools for caving, exploration, etc. The Ores in Minecraft are more for making armor and weapons and should have that unique difference between the crystals. If more crystals are gonna be added then i would like to see them being able to make utilities like a grappling hook or a climbing icepick for more transversal gameplay.

Í'd imagine Uranium Ore as to be used to craft a block to boost up brewing/smelting times of Brewing Stands/Furnaces/Blast Furnaces/Smokers. It is a directional block akin to a Hopper and you power it up with Uranium Core (the smelted Uranium Ore) and Water.

Stop with the random ore demands!!!! This is part of the reason why I was scared of a cave update!!!$

HighestWriter93 I think Mojang did right by the cave update, only adding one ore and another crystal that can be achieved by other means besides mining. They are creative in a way not seen by most people on this site that just suggest junk items for no reason

No need for ores but they could be part of the archaeology. not uranium though it's a little too futuristic.
