An idea to stop people from easily killing the warden:

Yes, making it break blocks is a very good idea. I really like the idea of making it nearly impossible to kill the Warden. And also it not dropping anything to make it so that you don't *need* to kill it in the end.
But this made me also think about achievements: Should killing the Warden give you a challenge achievement?
Another idea would be to give the player a kind of bad omen effect after killing the Warden that makes pve gameplay harder for a while (and that could potentially be also needed for the "how did we get here" hidden achievement so killing it could still be a challenge for advanced players...)

Both building towers and digging holes as a strategy could be circumvented by the Warden having a ranged/projectile attack, perhaps simply throwing stone blocks at the player.

I agree that the warden can break blocks, the warden should have the ability to deflect all kinds of projectiles, as if he can hear them coming before they can even hit him.
also it should either have a "roar" similar to that of the ravager but louder/stronger or it could open and light up his chest which means he is about to draw the player towards him, like a black hole.

This is too far. Wardens will already be a huge pain to beat due to their strength, if they could climb and break blocks, that would be way too powerful. I think wardens are fine how they are. In fact, a nerf is needed for the warden.

Bells or other loud noises should be used to nerf the warden's strength.

I don’t think they should climb, but maybe they could strike the bottom block sending a shockwave up your block tower knocking you to the ground.

Yes it should also be amune to lava other wise you can just throw a snowball into the lava then he is dead

The climbing makes no sense but with the block breaking feature it needs no climbing

Maybe just make Wardens immune to damage and tie them to a sort of "Warden's Heart" block that when mined and taken will kill/disable the Warden tied to that heart. This would fit with the sort of horror game monster gameplay they seem to be going for with it and give the player a reward for defeating it without incentivizing attacking the Warden itself.

...Y'know... Davy Jones style...except you don't become a ghost pirate captain for doing so.

Maybe the warden could release a sonic boom of sorts to knock players back and deal damage if it cant reach you, which means it could hit you through walls and knock you off pillars.

NO this is too far the warden is already to hard to kill because of its strength

How about it has a thorns power, similar to guardians, that whatever damage you do to it, you recieve the amount of damage dealt.

I think they should be able to break blocks, but kind of slowly, it'll be harder for the Warden to just smack open a huge hole and kill the player but it'll also prevent the player from standing there and smacking it.

How about the warden gets an attack which is AOE and turns stone blocks into gravel in like a fracturing pattern causing cave ins to crush the player if they are hiding in a low height cave

I personally think the Warden should have drops, but should still be very hard to kill, and incredibly dangerous.

They should be able to pathfinder there way around lava and other heat sources because although they can't see they still should be able to hear and feel the heat

I think it would be better if the blocks found in the wardens biome to be hard to break and the warden to be able to break any block other than his biome.

yea and no! i agree with you that you can just escape it by making a tunnel or a tower, but that would be easyly fixable by just giving the warden the same or even a bit more range than the player. this way the warden can still attack you from a range, where you cant attack it

I think letting them break blocks could be abused with automatically digging tunnels for players.

I think that an easier solution to this problem would be to make the warden have the exact same reach as the player. This would make it so any time you can hit the warden the warden can hit you whether your in a tunnel or on a tower. Climbing just feels too unnatural and breaking blocks is too OP and dangerous.

    Here's my take on it.

The Warden senses that you're too high or too low. It lets out a unique sound effect to summon the Skulk Mite, a small headcrab looking mob the size of a silverfish. These little buggers can climb, jump gaps like the goat and crawl through one block gaps to rip you up. Plus, they always appear in swarms of 3-7. They knock you off your pillars or swarm you in your tunnel.

I think this is a good idea but i would rather have it where if the warden cant reach you he/her would turn to stone so you cant kill it and maybe regens to

Instead of breaking blocks it should be able to shrink its hit box maybe to the size of a cave spider it would basically be able to “phase” through walls

No, just no. I think that wardens are too powerful as it is. In a recent 'Ask Mojang' episode,a developer said that a warden is like a tornado, you would not seeing a sword at it but run the other direction. What you suggest is like a tornado that cannot be dealt with, it is like making evacuation pointless. This suggestion seems good on the surface but the only mobs having the ability to break blocks are ghasts, creepers and boss mobs.

Um it's called strategy and the warden won't be that easy. If you keep making it challenging it will be no better than the phantom

Breaking blocks would have to be implemented very carefully. Dont want to get our worlds destroyed by an angry warden

I very much disagree with this because 1.That giant thing climbing walls would look very unnatural 2.If it could break blocks then what would stop it from breaking the cave when no one is there ,then it would mess with the cave's design 3.The warden is already super powerful 4.If you are running from it would you stop to build a tower or mine a tunnel 5.What would happen if it follows you home and destroys your house. Those are several reasons I think this is a bad idea.

A main thing I feel like is needed is for the Warden to have a ranged attack so it's not like people can just snipe it.
