The plans for 1.17 has a modded feel

I feel as though some of the new features planned for 1.17 don't fit the style of Minecraft. I know a lot of people who are exited about the changes. But I feel the game should stay as close to it's original style. Anyone with me?

    The only part I would say feels modded/un-minecrafty is all the deep dark stuff, but everything seems pretty minecrafty to me. Especially the lush caves stuff, everything in there looked very polished and natural.

    I’m not a massive fan of the stalactite’s and copper block’s current textures, but I think that Mojang have nailed the rest of the update. This is what the community has been wanting for a long time.

    My problem is with the archeological places. The thing I’ve always liked about Minecraft is the fact that your basically the first person there. I know villagers exist but the don’t feel quite human which I like. At the very least I hope the brush and the animation become less modded looking

    Except for archeology (plus some ugly textures and the fact calcite/tuff are just diorite/andesite 2: electric boogaloo), most of the additions seem fine. The Deep Dark feels like an interesting new dungeon to explore underground (although it needs a bit of rebalancing). Caves definitely need a better generation, just like the biomes did prior to 1.7.10.

    All I can ask for right now would be granite/diorite/andesite ores (so that ore and stone generation can overlap more smoothly), more uses for copper and a faster way to smelt bricks.
