    The range should actually be about 6 blocks since the length of a block in minecraft is a meter and 20 feet is equal to 6.096 meters. This would still be rather useful in effectively allowing pistons to pull different blocks separated by chains out at different distances. We would need to add bunched or coiled chains to the game to account for the pushing action of pistons as well as what happens vertically if the top of a chain is let go of or given slack. Ideally a pulley could also be added to allow changes in the direction of a single chain which would open up some new applications for this possible new mechanic.

    Making all blocks entities would crash the game and severely decrease preformance :/

    One block is ~3 feet so 6 blocks would actually make the most sense
