Yo you’re supposed to read the considered ideas before posting feedback. It’s literally confirmed that that won’t be added. Or at least it’s VERY unlikely.

I like this concept and have thought about how useful it would be as a builder myself and I think the staining could be implemented best as a crafting recipe of 8 wood configured like a chest with a dye in the center, because I know some people who would run around with dye and just paint everything similar to log stripping. That would pose an issue. So crafting it instead would be best

Considering the number of block colors and wood variations that would have to be considered to make Stained Wood possible, it seems highly unlikely it would ever happen. However, if the lightest color of wood (Birch) had a staining option, I think that alone would good enough.

I wish they would reconsider this idea. It would make building stuff so much better

Stained wood should only be craftable from a stripped log or wood of any tree variety (not from Nether fungus). Eight stripped logs/wood surrounding a dye would yield eight "Stripped DYE COLOR Log" or "Stripped DYE COLOR Wood". Texture would be dyed Oak, regardless of wood variant used, e.g., stained doors and trapdoors would match Oak Doors and Oak Trapdoors in style. All subsequent crafting with the stained logs would replace the word "Oak" with the name of the dye color, e.g., "Magenta Slab". Items such as sticks, ladders, chests, etc., that have no wood specification, would be craftable but would not be stained.

I think this is a great idea, and like someone else said, I think it would be best implemented with birch wood, since not many people like it or use it, it's the lightest colored wood, and would give it more uses and make players have to use it if they wanted stained wood. Maybe a new village could even be added due to the new variation, like a painted birch forest village or something
