Well, let's admit we all want to actually go to Minecraft space... Sounds like a step in the right direction!

Might be a cool feature, but in my opinion it doesnt feel like it fits.

in order to look at them you could craft a mounted telescope using a telescope 2 gold and 2 copper in an upside down v and the mounted one could see them also during day time where as if you don't have a telescope mount you would look at the sky during night

With Telescopes, you could be able to see meteor showers, shooting stars, etc..And maybe even have crashed meteors as structures.

Perhaps stars should have different colors. Most of them could be white or faintly blue, but perhaps a few should be red or orange. Perhaps some stars are brighter than others. Perhaps you could see random planets when you look up into the sky. Perhaps you could occasionally see comets or shooting stars

As stars vary on world seed, planets should too. A variety of planets could be pulled off by having several base "surface" textures, sometimes "ocean" textures, and also "atmosphere" textures. Perhaps some kind of star chart could be made, to encourage players to create constellations.

Doing this would add new possibilities of roleplaying and new levels of world immersion. Looking up at night should make players feel small and insignificant, while filling them with awe, wonder, and curiosity. Compared with other things, this should be really light and simple to add, yet the game will feel so much richer for it.

This astronomy feature would likely be useful for navigation. This should be accompanied by the addition of the sextant to measure the height of the moon, stars, and planets above the horizon.

maybe constellations can point you to strongholds sometimes. Adding light pollution would also make the game much more realistic as you would have to keep the area around you dark so that you can see all of the constellations. Maybe even make it so that when the moon is new you can see the farthest. A new villager type in general, the astronomer could also come with this along with a new villager structure, tripods, and telescopes. lenses would add even further upgrades o your telescope o make things clearer and clearer for farther and farther.

This would help them incorporate seasons into biomes, having a mapped out night sky for the game to follow and effect the seasons to trigger in certain areas at certain times. Also this opens the door for new things not only like astrology but chemistry, engineering, and more that would be like crafting and smelting. New game mechanics such as different physics or forces of nature can be added, new materials and tools can be added, and eventually players could explore the Minecraft Universe.
