One of the things I love about the nether is the immersion. Everything, the sounds, the visuals, the mobs, it all combines to create a truly alien feel. However, there is one thing that I often feel like tends to break immersion, room. I feel like the biomes almost always feel crammed. One second I'm walking through a crimson forest and feeling lost in this alien world, the next I'm standing on the edge of a cliff (or face-to-face with a wall). It seems like I'm always on the edge of one of these biomes, and I'm never truly IN one.
I know you guys are revamping the cave generation in the next update, so I think it would be nice if the nether generation was changed a little too. I've noticed that the current cliff-filled, cracked nether generation supports the basalt deltas and the nether wastes a lot more so than it supports the other nether biomes.
I think making the nether generation be more spread out and smooth (make the flat areas of the map larger) would help the newer biomes of the nether be a lot more immersive.
Ps. This probably belongs in a separate post. But I think there should be something new and valuable to find in the soul sand valley, because currently there isn't much of a reason to go there.
