Updated Concept: Glowberries is now out, however they are still underutilized. The point of this post is to use glow berries to enable players to access the glowing effect in survival, combat, or with Redstone (without being completely reliant on spectral arrows). Splash potions could be used as a trap to detect intruders in bases without harming them. Limitations would clearly need to be placed to prevent overuse, potentially mixing glow berries with the new glow squid ink. I originally wrote this for 1.17, so the original post is down below.
The Glowberry is an upcoming feature in 1.17 which will serve as an edible lighting source. However, I believe that glow berries could be expanded on. In my idea for glowberries, eating them would give you the glow effect, which is already in the game through commands or spectral arrows. If used with an awkward potion, it would create a potion that gives the glow effect for 2 minutes, etc... This could be very useful for minigame developers, such as Tango Tek and his Decked out Game. It could also be used as a method in PVP or for fighting the warden. Perhaps if it was a high enough tier it could help harm the warden, as he is sensitive to light. (The Warden idea is not an important part of the feature). All in all, I think this minor feature for glow berries could help give them more useful than just another lighting source and improve an existing feature.
