I had the exact same idea. I really like this idea and, yes, this makes a lot of sense. Slow falling should muffle your steps and should affect how the Warden detects the player.

I think this make a lot of sense. Slow falling already stops people from destroying crops, so it would make sense that the landing is also soft enough to where you do not make much or any noise. It could make it so the Warden still detects you if you get close enough since mobs can still detect you if you are close enough with invisibility, at least with armor. However, I feel like this should not be the case, as the player does a lot of other actions that produce sound. I think slow falling should fully block all sound from sneaking, walking, sprinting, and jumping. Gliding with the elytra too if that makes sound. Slow falling would not block sounds from things like eating and mining, so you still have to be very careful. If slow falling made all running and jumping fully undetectable, the player often does a lot more than just these actions, so it would still be balanced. This could even apply to sculk sensors, making entrances that require slow falling to get through easily while performing a certain action at some point possible. You could make entire maps around this feature, as being able to walk, jump, and sprint past sculk sensors but still being able to activate them by doing something like eating of punching a wall opens up a lot of possibilities. Finally, this adds a reason to actually carry slow falling instead of just using an elytra or water bucket. With the ability to stack potions in the future combat update, this would make players want to carry slow falling.

Had the same idea just now and looked to see you already did so yeah. Agree that it makes perfect sense to have slow fall cancel out vibrations from movement but not eating or mining. Love the idea of gliding through the air over a warden from the top of a cave to some structure in the deep dark to grab loot and having it suddenly turn on you as it feels the vibrations only when you open the chest
