Growing wheat differently

I think that when farming wheat you should get wheat grains/seeds and straw. The wheat grains would be used to make bread and to feed chickens. The straw would be used to make straw blocks (like hay) and to feed cows.

    Yes! This was the idea I was about to post, but you already thought of it. When farming wheat, I always end up with a surplus of wheat seeds, and not enough wheat.

    I'd change it so that what is now "wheat" would be called "straw", and what is now "wheat seeds" be just called "wheat" ("grain" would also work). You don't even need to change the icons or growth mechanics. Straw would still be what is used to breed cows and sheep, and craft hay bales. Then wheat would be used to craft bread and cake, and to breed chickens.

    That would probably solve the issue of too many wheat seeds building up, since you can craft them into edibles. Also, it would be more accurate to how wheat is used in real life. 

    Just for fun, you could add a wearable straw hat, like farmer villagers wear.
