Since Minecraft Cave Update is going to introduce a mob that can deal a lot of damage, even when you are wearing Netherite armor, it would be too hard since you'll lose all of your inventory. It has been the games rule to loose all your things when you die, I think it might be unfair for some people.
I want the inventory system to be changed, when you die, you loose only a percentage of your things, based on your current difficulty. Easy mode: 25%, Normal mode: 50%, Hard mode: 75%, and Hardecore mode: 100%. The player should be able to choose favorite items in their inventory, so they do not loose it when they died, and will only loose something else. The player should only choose a limited amounts of favorites per difficulty. Items that are least valuable should be lost first.
On servers or multiplayer, the operator can choose rather to keep a % of inventory upon death, or loose all your inventory upon death. Keep % of inventory should be on by default. If the player chooses to not have that on, they should get extra experience points. The percentage of inventory lost should also be adjustable.
I would like to see this in game, and I think it will make the game more fair and fun. I hope the Mojang developers would see this and maybe review it.
