I agree with the tier, but I have a better idea. I think that the armor's durability and protection start out as fairly low, but as you wear it and it oxidizes it gets tougher. It would be more durable and protect you more, making it more unique. Please change the post to include this and I will vote for it.

Copper armor would have to be INCREDIBLY weak in terms of durability before it even comes close to being balanced. Copper would make a good armor, but the fact is that the abundance of it is simply too much when you realize that you could make about 2-3 times as much of the same product with copper as you could iron with the same amount of ores mined.

I agree 100%, the ore has nothing to do with it other then building. but everything in the main post but here a reason why to do it. when the ore gen was updated for copper it made iron harder to find so why not add copper armor to fill in the void that was left when the ore gen update happen. not saying add buttons or copper presser plates but the would be cool as well.

I feel that copper should be slightly worse armor than iron, as copper has very limited use cases, and thus is far more abundant. I often find that I have WAY too much copper than I know what to do with, but never enough iron.

I have 2 types of copper armor ideas.

1: Copper armor. Can upgrade Leather into Copper Studded Leather Armor, being struck by lightning (this WILL attract lightning) will be negated, and is possible for lucky AoE attacks. A copper sword to pair with it will also create group-eliminating tacttics.

2: Supercharged armor. Combining Redstone with Iron Armor, and Copper alongside that, will give the following benefits:
Swiftness for 1 minute appon being struck
Sharpness 3 with Copper/Iron/Netherite Swords for the next attack apon being struck
'Explosive Charge' apon being hit by an enemy (electrical release, ends prior effects early, deals damage similar to a creeper, doesn't destroy blocks.)

    As well as nerfs:
Any TNT will detonate when you touch them
Any redstone will be triggers/disabled appon entering 3 blocks of them
As well as creepers, villagers, pigs, ect getting their struck by lightning effects.

A possible way would  be to add a smithing template that could give to an armor the appaerence of a copper, emerald, amethyst, quartz, redstone or lapis lazuli armor, without changing statistics.

We have copper armor now!  No special abilities yet, but maybe some day.
