Lightning Rod Redstone Behaviour

Have the Lightning Rod announced for 1.17 emit a redstone signal when struck

    Yes 100% this could have some fun applications for Redstone, this could be used for lightning/storm detectors for channeling or riptide and have usages in charging creepers and the like.

    I think it definitely should emit redstone. One of the special things it could do with redstone is emitting a signal that reaches 25-30 blocks because a lightning strike has so much power/energy.

    They should add if one lightning is on top and one is at the bottom with a couple of blocks of air that it can create spark gaps too!
