Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Amethyst crystal torches and lanterns (cave and cliffs update)

These lanterns and torches would appear purple and be made in the same way as torches and lanterns are currently with amethyst as the substitute for coal in the torch and then the torch be used to craft the lantern. Uses: Besides looking pretty these could be used to distract the warden for 10 seconds as you get past it on your way through the deep dark, however after 10 seconds the warden will break them (out of curiosity) and let out a roar activating all nearby sound detecting thingies. The lanterns would distract it for a further five seconds and require two hits from the warden to break. Both would emit a light level of 13.

    To be honest I missed that part about the warden being blind, I’m going to leave the suggestion up though in case mojang decides to consider it partly blind or something.

    I like this idea but I think it needs to be based on the tinkling sound the crystal makes. It would confused the warden. Maybe a crystal chime that can be rung with redstone?
