Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

I love your idea :D it would be hard to obtain because you would have to go to the end but it doesn't matter uwu

    I add just in case:

I think a good place to find this mineral would be the End dimension since the endstone is one of the few desaturated colors that minecraft has, so the chalk would look good there + this would give a reason to return to this dimension more often + since the chalk is normally found under water, this could explain why the islands are floating in the air (the water descended to the overworld)

It could also be found a bit in the Overword, but the End would have a lot of it (like what happens with gold in the nether)

This is extremely well put together.

I feel like this would fit perfectly into the caves and cliffs update since there are such things as chalk cliffs and so chalk could equally be found on cliffs as well as the end.

Huge fan of this idea.Any new tone of colored blocks would be amazing for gradients and texturing, and we really need pastel colors in general.

Instead of Chalk, the new block could be called Plaster and be introduced when the Archaeology update is, because it ties in with plaster casts of artefacts etc.

Basically like concrete gives us vivid colours and terracotta gives us muddy colours, plaster would give us pastel colours and be crafted with bone meal.

However, I'm unsure what the other components would be. It could be that adding bone meal to concrete powder makes plaster, but the concrete recipe is already complex and non-renewable to craft so making plaster a tertiary crafting recipe seems messy. Or the plaster recipe could be bone meal + dye + bottles of water, but water bottles are non-stackable and then it would have to leave the water bottles in the crafting table. Or perhaps it could incorporate clay.

Either way, I think using bone meal in the recipe is most intuitive for players because you're using a whitish substance to get a light-coloured blockset, and because bones are made of plaster and plaster's components are calcium-based powders.
