Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Looking at some images it seems like sandstone fills this role. but on the same token, it looks like it could add a more shaded, grainy, weathered, and yellowish mustard look to builds. Idk, I'm on the fence. ill vote for it for now

i think this would be a great idea, but if it were to be implemented it would act like granite, diorite, or andesite

It they do a cave update this would be a good addition- it might work best if they also updated how stone formations formed.  You don't get granite stalactites but you do with limestone.  It would be nice if the different stone types formed in patches more like they would in the real world.

At least for in veins like granite etc, for sure. I've always loved the idea of having limestone in Minecraft, even before caves and cliffs was announced.

No Dyeing stone, and they should occur in dripstone caves as this would make sense as well as add another use to the biome.

In real life, Limestone is made of Calcite from the shells of sea creatures.

I think limestone would be a stripped-oak colored sandstone-like block, and would spawn in warm oceans.

Might also be able to be smelted from Calcite.

mebbe ill do a post abt it later.

Would also be cool to add an alternative crafting recipe for cement that includes limestone

Sandstone is NOT a good replacement for limestone. It's so yellow it hurts the eyes. If you ever tried building Parisian/Haussman style or classic buildings you'll know the pain. Quartz is too white as well. This block has been on top of my wishlist for Minecraft since 2011 and I was really disappointed it wasn't in Caves and Cliffs or the Wild update.
