End Spawn Platform Block Replacement and Destruction

Whenever a player enters the end, any blocks that are at least 2 blocks above the obsidian platform get removed entirely. Would it be possible to make it "break" those blocks instead, meaning they drop as their item if they drop an item when broken? This is especially bothersome in the cases of shulker boxes and chests being straight up deleted.

    This issue is a huge problem to me too, I died in the end so my friend put my stuff in a chest there and it straight up disappeared. It would make more sense to just have everything drop.

    While building a enderman farm I placed my shulker box on the end spawn obsidian full of my stuff after dieing where dose my stuff go in the world.
