Quaking is an enchantment that can be applied to the boots, allowing when the player jumps, it causes another mob or player in a 3-block radius to be thrown in the air half the distance of the wearer's fall, let's call the it recoil, capping at a maximum of 15 blocks recoil in the air.
So for a player to apply the 15 blocks of recoil to their opponents, they have to fall 30 blocks.
Quaking can only be used when the wearer falls from at least 3 blocks, applying 1.5 blocks of recoil.
This enchantment is not compatible with Frost Walker and Feather Falling. Every single time the quaking is used on boots, 1 extra point of durability is used on the boots.
Quaking 1-3 have different effects:
Quaking 1, the standard as already stated, 1/2 recoil, 3 block radius 1 durability used every time quaking is used.
Quaking 2, is still 1/2 recoil, but in a 3.5 block radius and only has a 70% chance to use a durability when quaking.
Quaking 3, is 5/8 recoil, and a 4 block radius from impact, and has a 50% chance to use a durability when quaking.
Overall I believe the quaking enchantment can expand the diversity of the PvP and PvE playstyles and add a unique effect to the experience of Minecraft.
