Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

I thought you already could move em! Pistons should totally move chests, why not?

monsieur7932 In Bedrock, not Java. Which, now that I think about it, makes this a Parity entry...

I think this would be great, and since it is already a feature in bedrock I think it can be added fairly easy.
ilmango has a serie showing things you can do with movable tile entities using the carpet mod and that serie really shows the potential for movable tile entities.

There is already a mod which does that, the Carpets Mod. However, it would be awesome to be included in the vanilla game. Mojang, if you're seeing this, please. Why should bedrock have it if the redstone there is completely illogical but java, with great redstone and logic doesnt?

This could be a great use for barrels, since in real life people don't usually actually transport items in chests. This would give barrels a unique use, but they would still be slightly less convenient than chests in static storage. Also the enderchest should not move since it is made form obsidian. But barrels and furnaces should definitely be movable!

Personally I think only barrels and maybe dispensers should be movable by pistons.

Movable dispensers would help in java with replacing tnt dupers

Most people who use redstone use java, because it works better. including quasi connectivity and sticky pistons unstick from a 1 tick pulse. the problem with this is that moving bases and other stuff, can only have minecart and chest boats for storage for instance. although many redstone people use these blocks to be usable, and unmovable in some builds, this could be replaced with another immovable storage item, or one storage item stays immovable

I think a gamerule like `movableTileEntities` would be great, when it would be set to `true` all tile entities would be movable, if it would be set to e.g. `[minecraft:furnace, minecraft:barrel]` only furnaces and barrels would be movable and if it would be set to `false` none would be movable, as currently the case in Vanilla Minecraft Java.

I think it would be amazing if they added this. I think it would solve the problem of tnt duping immediately as I think people would prefer dispenser based machines instead of ones that exploit a broken mechanic. Tnt duping is something Mojang has been hesitant to patch as it would create a giant hole in the redstone community, and movable dispensers could fill that hole and even be better then duping.

If this is added, I think ender chests should remain immovable.
