They won't do that, we don't even have it on Windows binary yet because they want people to use the Microsoft Store. (Same happened with AOE)

This would be my favorite thing, as I have a Chromebook (I play on console) and then I could get it on chromebook without developer mode.

I think this would be a great idea to give users of gnu/Linux a way to play with android players without modding mc

Yes, we (Linux users) need to get official support to run minecraft bedrock edition natively.
We need minecraft bedrock for GNU/Linux!

You can use the mobile port if you have it on the google play store. It does not have the minecraft store because the developer does not know how to implement the store. It should be extremely easy to compile for Linux but no one have the source code except for the minecraft team.
    sudo flatpak install io.mrarm.mcpelauncher
    (or use your software manager)

They should just put bedrock and java including the Launcher on Steam now that they make it one price. That would work for all PC platforms, but no, they have to do that Microsoft Store stuff.

I think that this should be possible. They ported it to consoles. Also it can be bought from the website now, as it seems. Also it is implemented into the launcher and could be ran on Mac and Linux. I don't see why they should not (be able to) port the game.

You can get an unofficial launcher online that works (for both mac and even better on Linux) and run nearly perfectly yet Mojang still hasn't even added it officially themselves...seems like Microsoft is stopping them...and Mac doesn't even have it either so I doubt it'll be added for Linux first

Problem minecraft bedrock is writen in c++ which is platform dependent platform so they must do some changes to the code, plus why Microsoft would want to suppoer concurent platform? But it would great. (sorry for bad english)

Mojang, please add support for Bedrock on Linux and MacOS, as this would make both Bedrock and Java playable on all PC platforms

Please, I have bought Minecraft on nearly all platforms and still can't properly play Bedrock on Linux. They seem to want to focus more on cross-play, but Java is still the only real cross-platform version for desktop.

The thing is they already support Minecraft on Android, and the differences in Bionic and Glibc are so small that it's possible to run the Android version on Linux with a translation layer. So supporting Linux officially is not even difficult. Even if the official support comes in the form of just running the Android binary through a translation layer that would at least be official support.

With bedrock being more console oriented and controller friendly and not having it on Linux based consoles like the steam deck, its an untapped market.
Also please ad split-screen on pc.

5 years now. There is little hope, but I will hit vote nonetheless.

I bought Java, Win10 x2, iOS, and Android x4.  I'm now ON Debian 13 and have cancelled the renewal of the 2 realms I had a subscription to.  I'm playing on a friend's realm using the MCPE Launcher...using my google account for the minecraft apk file.  Even installed Win10 to Virtual Box on the same computer, so licensing is 100% legally correct...but I won't be playing Win10 edition in Virtual Box.  Win7, I switched to Win10.  Win10, I switched to Debian 13.  Make a Linux version to buy or eventually, I'll leave the franchise behind.  Did I mention I have kids?  Why else would I own so many copies?

I switched to Linux from Windows. I like Java edition but sometimes I do want to play Bedrock, I miss being able to use RTX. Even allowing something like WINE or mono would be nice, C++ applications tend to be decently cross-platform with some exclusions that can be handled just by having inherited/abstract classes.

Just chiming in to say we are here.

But... we're probably just a bit more than 271 people, so this will be the Serif situation all over again.

Fully transitioned to GDK and we still don't have this.

    Come on Mojang.

I am also supporting this, hopefully Mojang finally add Minecraft Bedrock builds for popular Linux distros. They clearly have all the money to make them and the developer skills to do code changes. Also, saying this to the guy that said "Why would Microsoft port this to concurrent platform" well, why wouldn't they block the ability of Minecraft Java to run on Linux and Mac?

I’ve been part of the Minecraft community for years. I own both Java and Bedrock editions, and Minecraft has genuinely been a big part of my life.

I recently moved to Linux for personal and professional reasons, and while Java works perfectly, I feel left out when my friends and family play on Bedrock. Cross-play is the only way we can all be together — and right now, I simply can’t join them properly.

I already own Bedrock. I even have Minecoins on my account. I am willing to buy more Minecoins and support the Marketplace, creators, and the ecosystem. But I can’t use what I already paid for, simply because I use Linux. That feels incredibly frustrating and discouraging as a loyal customer.

Linux users are not asking for special treatment — just equal access. Bedrock already runs on platforms closely related to Linux. The community has shown it’s technically possible. What we’re missing is official support.

Please consider bringing official Minecraft Bedrock support to Linux. Not just for technical reasons — but for the players who truly love this game and want to stay part of its world.

    Thank you for listening.
