More Basalt Options

I get that this stuff is practically new but dang is Basalt useless, and everywhere.

Don't get me wrong, I like the Deltas, nice location for my Blackstone Fortress, but basalt itself is useless garbage. Yeah there's polished basalt but honestly it isn't that useful, you can stack it as pillars and that's about it. If you take one look at my fortress you'll see an underwhelming amount of basalt as opposed to netherbrick and blackstone (namely the latter.)

Basalt needs more options, Flaky Garbage and Pillars Only Run are not exactly appealing. I get quartz vibes from it, where's the smooth basalt? Polished Basalt Stairs and slabs? Any of that at all?

It's just...basalt is so boring and plain. I'd be more inclined to just ignore it if there wasn't polished basalt but since that exists it suggests that more could (and should) be done with it. If it didn't exist I'd pay it about as much attention as netherrack

  This is great idea, though this post would probably be more effective if you put less focus on why basalt is bad, and more focus on what versions of basalt there could be.

  Yeah I think more regular and polished basalt variants would be really cool. Stairs, slabs, maybe even pressure plates and walls, etc. Basalt and especially polished basalt looks really cool, so being able to make that stuff with it would be really nice, just like what you can do with blackstone.
