Sake's origin is unknown. Geographically that is incorrect, but as far as a timeframe it predates any other known production of alcohol. I do not need to go into detail the progress alcohol has made across time for advancing humanity, fields from medicine to military. That is all apparent. Using that as a base, I would incline towards not diversifying further to other spirits, but over time develop further of application of Sake with subsequent complementary alternatives as well.

Then there is the other side. My dad (an MD raised in California & NV, smart guy, good dad) and I once were on the topic of the song Hotel California. He said the song was about living the California lifestyle. I said I disagree, that is about addiction. Or more, it conveys the journey of an addict's mind, from introduction to regretful reflection. Any trace of heartfelt romanticism fades away as everything tunes out, taking a tone of grim. So much of life, literature & movies can support this, but I choose one not remotely related to addiction, Apocalypse Now. The symbolism of the river to the war; the further we moved on, there weirder & venturesome it became. And for some who survived...haunting.

    Dude....that got dark.

Yea...even worse at the end of the song it was too much for them.

    So, without further adieu, SAKE!

Comment on fermentation in the Composter Revamp Post https://feedback.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/community/posts/360043481931/comments/360011340372. That would be in support of this.

With Fermenter: Milled Rice + Water + Koji

    No animations.

Drinking one Sake is ok, gives minimal health/food gains, nothing to it. You drink one at sunset, you'll find it will keep the phantoms away all night. Now you can work uninterrupted from above! You are diligent in your project. On the fifth night something's...different. What was one phantom is now five! Ooh good grief!

Drinking 3 things seem to be amiss. 70% total damage mitigation loss. Ok...but wait. I am having trouble functioning. All input from the player to what you see is delayed..five repeaters? 2 seconds. (might be overkill) Oh! and this lasts five minutes.

Drinking 5 and you slowly lose health until you die. 1 in 20 chance you have half a heart remaining.

When little Pat & Kelly are at school and have 1 hour to play, I don't see it becoming a voluntary abuse. Pat thinks it's funny, but now Kelly can't do much, let alone defend anyone for five minutes. Thanks Pat...

[Pat & Kelly are the kids of the Villagers who somehow exist in reality.]

When drinking Sake, color of itemframe will flash your level; nothing for days-in-a-row. Proc func loss creates a tone; think of a low bwaaah. (the bubble car in Wonka made a specific sound, like that.) This lets you know you made a mistake & commemorates on your misfortune.

The applications will come in time, like vinegar, but I found this serves a practical purpose. It is extremely frustrating working in a high or risky proximity & dealing with phantoms. This gives you more time.

However, continuous use in either fending off the phantoms or in real time leads to severe consequence. If five phantoms turns out to be good for farming, then whatever is needed to get the point across.

The usage is based off your blood content level; below .1%, fun. At  .3%, zippy, At .5%, nosedive. The idea is you are mindful of when you imbibe & not something you do all the time. In retrospect it may push drinking almost daily, but that is a decision we all must make. Nonetheless, it’s a deterrent to not lose track & highly inconvenient if you do.

What cures function loss? Simple recipe, don’t even need the crafting table: Water+Sleep.

The overall effects linger, so if you drink one in the morning, day or night prior, you will be at two when you drink one at sunset.

Oh! If you do proc functional loss at sunset, phantoms still appear. Good luck!

Koji Mold (aspergillus oryzae) is needed, found with rice & sprouts, or have it only require rice & water. Ferment with soybean for soy sauce and miso (alt. Sojae mold to Koji.)

You can try and keep the phantoms away, but you'll find they always come back to haunt you.
