Convert soul sand to sand

I would love it if there was a way to convert soul sand to sand. The way I was thinking the conversion could go would be that you fill the 2x2 crafting grid with 1 soul sand per slot and you get 4 sand in return. This would make sand renewable as well as not introduce any type of new block to the game.

    I think the reverse would work but I don't see how you would transfer soul sand into normal sand

    Or instead be able to convert soul sand into glass or concrete. 'Cause those are the main reasons why players need that much sand

    No When you Mine Soul sand or Soul Soil with Smite enchanted equipment it should release the souls!
