Colored Gems (Edit Sniffer)

(Edit Sniffer)

So after the caves and cliffs update I didn't think their would be a chance of this post being relevant again until the Sniffer won the Mob vote for 2022. After it won I thought it would be a good time to try again to push for colored gems in the game. They would only be attainable from the sniffer digging them up from the ground. Different colors gems would have different patters and come from different biomes in the game, for example green gems from jungles, yellow from deserts and so on. Just so theirs no confusion the gems would only be to decorate armor and tools (no special albites would come from gems). I explained how they worked on this post a while ago so I left it down below so you can read.

(Colored Gems would be apart of a cave update where instead of being used to make tools and armor it would be use to personalize your gear. Players armor and tools would be upgraded with a colored gem of there choice to fit there look. Different ore sets would have different shades. For example Iron would be lighter than Netherite. The gear would be colored like leather armor, but with a smithing table instead. Gems would be found in the height level of 40 to 0. They would be as rare as lapis and only found in sets of 1 or 3 so getting enough for all your gear would be a challenge. They could also have the ability to be placed down in groups like sea pickles. Gems don't benefit the player except for personalized gear and decorations. Thanks for your time.)

I like this, the gilded stone in the Nether update made me think of something similar, The gems could either color the armor and optionally add a design to it similar to glazed terracotta, that could be done using a banner pattern the player creates, it would make armor sets more meaningful to be lost since you'd lose a personalized set of armor.
