Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

I'd kind of like this, but the Nether trees aren't supposed to be flammable, so cooking them doesn't fit with their way of life. You can always craft sticks and cook with that instead, or use some tasty Nether Fortress or Piglin loot.

It might make things a little too easy for the players who want a challenge as well. The nether has coal from wither skeletons and lava from essentially everywhere as fuel sources, so we don't really need fungus stems for that. Just as an extra note, this isn't something Mojang forgot to add. They may have originally set things up so that stems could burn, but the block tags recorded on minecraft.gamepedia show that this is intentional. So it seems like they may have considered using them as fuel, but decided against it. As I mentioned before, the minecraft wiki should have more info on this if you are interested in learning more.

Aren't the new wood variants actually some sort of fungi? That's why I thought they didn't burn.

And since they exist in the 'hell' dimension where there is lava everywhere, it can be assumed anything that could burn would have already since it's simply just that hot. Therefore, smelting with them wouldn't be hot enough for them to burn.

I love the most extreme challenges. I agree you defiantly don't want to make things too easy, but.. I currently made a single biome world of Crimson Forest, this has been a super fun challenge on Hardcore, but things are pretty tough so far and I was hoping for some charcoal from Crimson logs but none. To get an idea how hard this is.

    [Apologize for off topic.]

No other mobs spawn but Zoglins and Zombie Pigmen because this is in the overworld. No minerals spawn, that means no coal, iron, diamonds. But you can get gold from netherack gold ore, and stone exists. There are chests with loot but its rather difficult to run around with no armor and fight Zoglins which spawn in day and night in close proximity, you pretty much have to live in a tree or live below ground with non spawning blocks as floor.
