Piglins are the greedy and untrusting inhabitants of the Nether, but they used to build bastions and farm. What if piglin society broke down because of rebellion, and now piglins are shattered into clans? The Clan Mechanic would be similar to villages. it would be a 3 part system, with plenty of room for players to interact.
Piglin Banners - symbol of a clan. There are three clans: red, yellow, and blue. A clan will be created and all piglins in a 64x64 radius will join the clan. A leader will be chosen with a banner on its head, and all members of the clan will protect the leader. when a leader dies, a new piglin will pick up the banner.
Distrust/Rebellion - when a player barters with piglin in a clan, distrust begins. They will begin to guard gold and try to stay away from others. when 3+ piglins talk, there is a 10% chance of a new clan starting. Old Clan members will join if outnumbered by New Clan members. The two clans will begin opportunistically killing or converting opposing clan members (and you) until one clan is gone.
Player interaction- The player can't be a leader, but they can stop rebellion and make the clan better. Giving every piglin gold armor, putting the banner of the clan all around the camp/bastion, bartering frequently with the piglins, putting gold blocks around the camp, bringing the banners of enemy clans, and distributing food would lower bartering prices and make rebellion less likely. Maybe opposing clans could raid your growing piglin society?
