Old Mountains and New Upcoming Mountain designs should be kept separate

The upcoming Mountain Update: between the features that were mentioned on Minecon Live in 2019 (Snowier Snow - Goats) was one that could potentially impact Mountains quite drastically, from the words of Jeb himself in the animated video: Mountains are getting an upgrade - Jagged Cliffs,  Snow Capped Speaks, Dramatic Views...
If the Mountain designs themselves are getting an upgrade - or change in a way - then its my understanding than the current design of the Mountains in the Mountains Biome might go unused?
If that's the case I wanna give the suggestion of perhaps rather than putting the old mountains in a box of old unused features, keep the mountain biome as it is with its current design and re-introduce the old name of "Extreme Hills" or "Extreme Mountains" if you will and use those possible new Mountain designs under that new Biome Name. That way nothing is really lost in the process!
After all, Considering how B I G the Minecraft Community is, I'm sure a lot of people do like the current Mountain designs with being able to be tall and yet kinda flat when it can be.
Again, If this designs Jeb describes are perhaps a new re-design of the Mountains Generation and forms, then perhaps rather than scrapping the current Mountains for new ones, we could perhaps keep both? That is all.

    That would be great, the new mountains seem to be a type of biome variant that is consistent along all biomes (like Plains & Desert Hills). I think introducing the pre-1.17 mountains and maybe even the original "Extreme Hills" style generation as a new biome or biome variant would be amazing. We already have something like this with the Shattered Savannah Plateau, so we could have "Shattered Mountains" and such.
