    Perhaps (especially for java) boats go faster when you hold a shovel in both hands, depending on the tier of the shovel. different tiered shovels will turn the boat in the direction of the lower-tiered shovel. The shovels would render as the ores of the boat. (I liked the boats without oars personally)
