No More Parity!

Minecraft Java & Minecraft Bedrock are 2 different games. There isn't any good reason to parity them up so they are the same. If you are going to do that, then why not make the game crossplay between Java & Bedrock. Because it doesn't make sense. Currently, I appreciate the simplicity of Bedrocks lack of Java feature, because it makes me purely focused on playing with friends rather than messing with missing bedrock features, such as custom heads, etc. 

The truth is they are completely different games and if you want Java features, you should get Java Edition. If you want Bedrock features, you should get bedrock features. But I personally paid good money for both editions, and I will feel like I deserve a refund if you choose to make the games the same...

    eh, I prefer having steam integration for bedrock edition.
    However, you do have a good point about paying for both versions. I would like Java Edition to have a lower price and for bedrock to have a fixed price for all versions (switch could do this by being digital only, since physical copies would make it cost $80).

    I think the parity is a good idea, especially for players (like me) who can only play Bedrock because they can't afford a PC or the other way around. I think it's fine just the way it is, and the games should keep having the same features.

    Unfortunately i disagree. I think parity should continue so minecraft and minecraft java have the best of both worlds. More

    I think that parity should be done since I can’t play with my friends on iOS if I got Java so I play Bedrock. Also, my friends on Bedrock want things that are on Java but can’t get a PC so it would be a shame for them if parity was stopped.

    Hey y’all! I think instead of paritying, we should 100% give java edition more it’s unique features and give bedrock edition its unique features.

    Who voted for this this is totally the worst suggestion in all of the feedback website because

    • Minecraft java and bedrock are not two different games they are the same game but with different codebases
    • Some people can only afford one version
    • Some people like good features because most of bedrock exclusive features are really the nonexistence or the java features.

    That is why this is a very bad post I will not vote.

    I understand some people have a different opinion then me... all I’m saying is I feel I deserve a refund if you make both games exactly the same. It ain’t fair to me nor is it fair to other players who have purchased both versions. I spent a good $50 for a $20 game due to the unique features of each.

    Unpopular opinion: if the 2 games ever do reach complete parity (highly unlikely), one of them would eventually get discontinued. It'd be like having to develop the exact same game twice for 2 different codebases, which not only divides the team but also forces them to work in sync and constantly communicate changes so it doesn't break parity.

    Despite this I still really, really want parity between the 2 versions. Even if I "lose" what I paid for one of them if it does get discontinued way down the line, unifying the fanbase on all platforms and also improving the experience all around would make it more than worth it IMO.

    And besides, what you bought was the game as it was with no guarantee of future updates, the fact that the updates are all free and that we are still getting them is a massive bonus. In no way does it warrant you a refund even if they make both games effectively the same.

    The two versions are incapable of crossplay. It's not my opinion, they're made in different coding languages.

    They are, however, meant to represent one and the same game. Talking about this the way you do means you do not understand what you are talking about and you could compare it to people who whine that they got rare achievements in the game and they have been made easier to get for other people or other similar nonsense. You can not reasonably expect to be granted the right to a refund just because you prefer feature exclusivity of one version/edition over the other. What this means, is that they should absolutely get the same features and the fact it is taking so long and that they deliberately do not want to introduce proper changes to one edition or the other when it comes to different parts of those editions (I won't be calling them separate games) such as the infamous redstone working entirely different on Bedrock just because "it is the way redstone was originally supposed to be anyway" is sickening. No one will give you a refund if you get mad at developers for making the game one and the same as it was always supposed to be in the first place, because demanding a refund for this type of thing is bonkers, baseless and does not break any law under which you would be eligible for a refund. Please get back to Earth's orbit and rethink what you have just said over.
