This has been mentioned previously. What would it do.

When you touch it, you get the withering effect and the soul velocity particles are created! Of course it wouldn't destroy snow! If you build a cobblestone generator, but with soul lava, you will get soul sand, or (more rarely) soul soil. Or it could have anti-gravity, if you place it, it will "fall"!

Soul lava wold be made by either throwing or playing soul soul into lava it has soul particles coming out of it and does 2 more hearts of damage if soul lava touches lava it creates blackstone it could also make crying obsidian if it’s covered with water.

This could be cool as a purely visual thing, like how water changes color depending on what biome you're in.
Mechanic-wise, maybe striders can't walk on blue lava or something?

I would have this be bluish-white in color with a texture that matches the souls on soulsand, except that these would actually flow down the river. I would also have the liquid be transparent but still give off light.

While I like the idea that it gives 2x the damage of normal lava, I also thought that it could be related to souls pulling. One idea is that it naturally pulls entities down, or that it lets them sink naturally but getting up is much harder. If boats can ride on it, it may either sink them or slow them down a ton.

I was thinking that soul fire could be intangible like souls, so I was wondering if water would put it out or if water would just pass over it. If it passes over, Soul Lava/Water could be the thing that puts it out. On the other hand, it may be Soul Lava/Water that creates the Soul Fire in the first place.

I would call the biome Soul Stream. As it is a stream and the Nether doesn't like water, it may be thinner than normal rivers. When it meets with lava it could create blackstone or, more likely, soul sand. It could simply combine with normal water.

As the Nether was called Hell, I was thinking that it could be called HolyWater. It doesn't have to be called that, but I think that it could have similar properties. For example, it may only hurt/repel undead mobs, or any mobs affected by Smite.

It could also be purple in color so that crying obsidian could be considered the magma form of it

This could also be silver in color as a hint that the river is made from Ghast Tears

It would be able to burn grass blocks, dirt, and sand. Blocks like that.

Does it really even need to be different? Appearances make lots of difference. I don't think soul fire does much more than regular fire does anyway...

i like this idea. there should be soul fire on your screen and soul lava is blue, is found in small puddles in soul vallys and do more damage.

Soul Lava will replace regular lava lakes in the Soul Sand Valley. It flows twice as fast and burns twice as much. It can create infinite lava source blocks, smelt twice as much as a regular lava bucket, when used as fuel and create crying obsidian when in contact with water. It will create deepslate if used in a cobblestone generator.

So how will the normal lava transition with soul lava be?

Probably the same ways water mixes from different biomes.

It could go gradually purple to orange, or purple to blue.

Interaction between soul lava and regular lava is the one issue I foresee, but I agree, this should exist.
