What is parity? This category is designed just for features that exist but work one way on one platform, and another way on a different platform. Bugs are not parity! Following this, having the ability to place Lanterns (And now possibly Chains) on the underside of Trapdoors would be amazing! There are so many builds that I find and want to do, but being Bedrock I have to find a work around or scrap the idea. This would be amazing for the parody and make it so the versions are more seamless in the instruction and build department.

Yes please! It adds a layer of depth to a build and reduces the need for clunkier half slabs. Lanterns and even item frames would be a fantastic addition as well.

In addition to flower pots, there are also several other items that cannot be placed on trapdoors in Bedrock Edition. Someone mentioned that you cannot hang lanterns from the bottom of trapdoors. You can’t place them on top of trapdoors either. You also can’t place sea pickles, doors, pressure plates, snow layers (top snow), beds, scaffolding, or rails. You also can’t place ladders on the side of open trapdoors, which is another very commonly used trick on Java Edition. There might be a few more, but I have yet to confirm them.

This is a major parity feature for builders and I'm surprised it hasn't been added or talked about more considering its usefulness and how widespread its use is on Java! I'm sure that you meant this by your suggestion, but I believe that trapdoors should function the same on bedrock as they do on Java (build-wise, I'm not trying to get into the whole one block tall movement discussion). It would be so nice to be able to put flower pots, item frames, lanterns, sea pickles, carpets, etc. on trapdoors as well being able to hang item frames on the side of the block instead of having to use the bulky slab in its place. Slabs are not only clunky looking because of their size in a shelf (or desk) type build, but also because their texture is the same as the stair block that it is often "supported" by. I'm sorry to ramble on, but in my eyes, this is the most important parity feature not yet announced or added to bedrock edition.

The potential construction patterns provided by this small change would make the Bedrock Edition just that much better. Let's hope for a quick change, as the mushroom block glitch was fixed relatively quickly. Fingers crossed!!!

Please let this happen. There are so many decor & designs that I wanna try but I simply can't because I'm using Bedrock. It honestly makes me so sad. This one and holding torch in the other hand feature are needed in Bedrock imo. I know I would enjoy playing much more.

I've been waiting for this since forever. I really wish they would consider this on bedrock. There are a lot of wonderful builds we could do with this.

I’m really frustrated by the inability to use trap doors in Bedrock in the same way Java does. I build with a lot of realism to create a fun and pleasant atmosphere to play in. The use of trap doors as a thinner shelf option or to hang things from is too important to the aesthetic side of building! Not all of us build massively huge structures on a scale that would allow slabs to look proper. The majority of Minecraft players build much, much smaller for a size suitable to a two block high character. Slabs just dont allow for that in the typical small spaces without looking clunky and hogging precious visual space.

This omission of use is too obvious and for far too long. It’s like tossing one kid a highly detailed miniature house kit with all the finer details and accessories to work with but then tossing another kid a bag of Mega Blocks expecting them to be just as stimulated and satisfied. It’s just not the same. Imagination using the Mega Blocks is limited by age, and many of us are adults wanting adult level creativity, and even older kids outgrow Mega Blocks.

Why does Minecraft overlook these important elements and not provide the feature after years of complaining by players? You have a huge devoted base, Minecraft, reward them by fixing these obvious omissions first.

Walls as well. You can attach flower pots to walls in Java but not in Bedrock. I've also tried placing on wool carpet and nope.

Flower pots, ladders, rails, lanterns, torches, candles, sea pickles, etc etc. Bedrock is so crippled aesthetically when decorating yet Java has always had this ability. Please include this in the next update! It has been sat on for too long and it’s ruining the fun of play.

In Bedrock candles cannot be placed on top of lightning rods which in Java it makes a perfect candle stick so you don't have to place the candles on the floor or on chunky blocks. Seeing a lot of castle interior build in Java where this is used. Would be great if Bedrock would just match all block placements of the Java edition.

The addition of intricate things such as being able to place lanterns or flowerpots on trapdoors would greatly benefit Bedrock players and make the game that much more enjoyable. With there being limited actions from Java and Bedrock a separate player base is created for the same game. Though the ones to notice this change would mainly be those following “how to build…” Minecraft tutorials; it would fix the insurmountable situation between bedrock players and Java players. Now today many players in bedrock are limited with their choices when wanting to build and instead of having the fun creativity and experience that is Minecraft they are left to work around their predicament simply because bedrock does not allow the same things as Java. To each side there are pros and cons but doing something seeming so minor that is believed to go unnoticed will undoubtedly make a significant improvement to the game. At least the change will be significant for the players who are trying to place flower pots suspended in the air or on a trap door etc. The change would seem minor now but eventually become the norm in the Minecraft community. If bedrock players are granted the opportunity to do these things such as Java players do it would alter how we view the game for the better.

I love and support you. please return the 1% of it to us and at least respond to why we can't have this parity change.
