Why do you need to hide the marketplace? Can't you just ignore it, or do you just blindly hate microtransactions? Making money is essential for huge companies like Microsoft to support Minecraft. Stop hating microtransactions without logical reasoning and saying that Microsoft has "rUiNeD tHe GaMe". In reality, Minecraft's best era of updates and fame started with the Update Aquatic, which was an update made after the deal were Microsoft bought the game. Of course Microsoft is not involved with the development itself, but without such a huge company to fund the game, I doubt updates as big and powerful as the Update Aquatic, Village & Pillage, Nether Update and Caves & Cliffs could be made with such quality and pace. Nobody forces you to use microtransactions; to most people marketplace content is not even a core part of the game's experience in the slightest unlike with other games. It's community made content after all. Even if it is a huge aspect of the game from your perspective, you can always download them for free via add-ons just like Java, except it is officially supported by Mojang! Unless of course you're on console, which is out of Mojang's control, since console companies don't like making game files accessible to players for security reasons. In fact, they tried a few ways to give console players access to free add-ons, but they failed.

So if microtransactions are what motivate Microsoft to keep funding Minecraft and enable huge scale updates like the ones we've been seeing recently, then may be we should live with it. Stop whining about microtransactions and hating on Microsoft for no valid reasons. Mojang alone wouldn't have been able to make half of the updates you're seeing the last years. It's true that Bedrock Edition needs more care when it comes to the core game, but hating microtransactions doesn't solve the problem.

I too would like to be able to hide the marketplace (and other paid content) from the UI. I find it very distracting and I have no intention whatsoever of purchasing anything from the marketplace. I don't see the point of having it take up space in the menus nor do I like that paid content presents itself whenever I want to create a new world. That adds an extra mouse click, which isn't a lot but it doesn't need to be that way. Sure this may seem like a minor complaint, but this is something that has been bothering me whenever I open up the game. At the very least I would like to be able to disable the button animation so it's less distracting.

Ziad El-Moursy I don't think this is about hating microtransactions. The original poster simply wants to be able to hide it from their Minecraft experience. It would in no way be removing it from the game. It is simply an option to hide it. Those that want it don't need to hide it, but some people such as myself don't intend to use the Marketplace feature and that is valid. I find it distracting and would also like to be able to hide it. So I came here to provide my feedback. If you disagree then don't vote for this suggestion but it won't hurt your gameplay experience so there is no need to be hostile.

My son is obsessed with the market place, always wanting to buy another game one after the next.. never ending. There’s no way to hide the option. So he just keeps going to the marketplace begging for another pack. I would love to know how to disable it or hide it

My son just bought $60+ without even batting an eye while I was napping on the couch woke up to my bank calling me suspecting fraud. To make it even more infuriating I'm already aware there's little to no chance I'll get a refund. The marketplace should absolutely be toggled on or off from parental settings or something. I highly doubt I'm the only one who has dealt with this.my son's been playing Minecraft for years now and only 2 weeks ago discovered the marketplace and now he doesn't even get to play. I'm not particularly against the existence of it but if my 7 year old can run up 70ish bucks on my debit card in a matter of minutes it's a problem.

It should be something that can be turned off cuz my son has figured out how to navigate to YouTube from the market place on his kids unlimited fire… we have gotten him away from YouTube as much as possible because there are so many bad videos. So soon he’s going to either lose Minecraft (which i paid for) or hopefully stop doing it. I’m glad he hasn’t been able to purchase anything yet. Why are there not ways of putting pass codes at minimum?????

This would be an amazing option for moderating children’s accounts.
No, they cannot ‘ignore it’. It’s designed to be distracting. Plus, it makes the character editor unusable. Are there free options? I cannot find them with an interface so cluttered by micro transaction ads.

Yes, such things exist elsewhere. I try to avoid them. This genre of suggestion is not helpful. If I wanted to ignore it, I’d have done it.

As an option for kids or people who would like to opt out of the additional content, a simple accessibility or even account-level (maybe in the Microsoft family account settings) option would be a godsend.

Another workaround would be the option to keep playing on recent older versions in order to maintain compatibility with content packs that provide this functionality until proper updates are available.

I just don’t want my little brother downloading a billion things on his switch all the time it’s driving me crazy, there’s a reason we as parents and older siblings have the responsibility to decide what our kids can and can’t do, and I’m sorry but a 6 year old shouldn’t be able to go on the internet like that without me or dad or another older person.

You're absolutely right it should be able to be toggled off. The commenter who went on a whole long rant can't even imagine having an autistic teenage son who is amazing at Minecraft and considers it his happy place, yet doesn't understand what I mean when I say I can't buy all the things he keeps clicking on. By the way they e made more than enough money already and they will continue. I'm sure we all know by now Microsoft doesn't care about the gaming community anymore so the least they could do is let us customize our user experience.
