XP Levels should drop more fairly upon death

I respectfully disagree. Getting to level 30 is hard in the beginning and it indeed feels like a big loss to go back to level 7. But I think the game needs tough punishments like that in order to stay fun. Besides, if you build an XP-farm, the loss quickly gets more trivial, and if it was reduced, it would feel like dying has no penalty.
If this is ever considered then I think anywhere above level 30 is definitely a deal-breaker, as those levels are basically an indication of endurance.

Perhaps a differing cap could be considered based on difficulty. With hard being level 7 and slowly creeping it up to 25-ish for easy or peaceful.

I agree. I had spent a VERY long time trying to get to level 1000. I finally got to level 200, then I died and got 7 levels back. I was really frustrated.

I think you should drop half the levels you had.

I was at lvl 26 and died right before I was about to spend the XP on enchantments. I was super pissed and still am bc it was pretty recent. Does anyone have any tips on how to farm XP. One tip that I have is to not smelt your ore right away unless you need the XP, bc if you die then you can just go and smelt a few packs of 64 iron ore and get a bunch of XP from it.

The XP loss and Death Screen are so outdated for the game's current player base. No one cares about the score on the death screen anymore. This isn't Minecraft: Arcade Edition.
