You shouldn't be allowed to suffocate in bed

You are allowed to sleep in a bed with only one block above it, but when you wake up, you stand up and suffocate in the block. This is very annoying and shouldn't be allowed. If there is a block above the bed that would suffocate the player, the bed should generate a warning message like when monsters are nearby or when you are top far away.
