Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

I absolutely agree with the stickyness in the ends. Even more useful now that we have horizontal chains. Although I think the should count to the piston push limit just like any other block, anything else would not feel very vanilla to me.

It would be absolutely amazing if they would just pull / push blocks, not move them sideways. This would make it possible to create fully retractable chains without the need of a 12-piston extender...

I don’t think that they should count less to the push limit though.

Mumbo Jumbo released a video where he demonstrated how this could be actually useful in making builds and redstone contraptions (thanks to Gnembon and his mod), just like you said only top and bottom of chains would be sticky, and i have to say it is very useful, its not just a little thing, it is a HUGE improvement to the redstone system/mechanic.
Love the idea, should be implemented in the game as soon as possible.

As stated by Giovanni Lanzarote, Mumbo Jumbo made a video with a mod showcasing this, Here's the link to the video: https://youtu.be/cdXfX5L-_bw

I don't agree with having them count less towards the push/pull limit. (I think the push/pull limit should just be increased in general from 12 to 16 blocks, for consistency with the base 2 numbering that Minecraft uses almost everywhere else.)

But I definitely, definitely, definitely want them to be able to pull blocks. Gnembon and Mumbo Jumbo have both made great videos demonstrating what would be possible with this feature. It would complement rather than replace honey/slime, it would make chains more useful, and it would look really, really cool.

Maybe you could even put a Chain and a Honey Bottle in a Crafting Table to make a Honey Dipped Chain that won't stick to normal Chains. I'm unsure of how useful this would be, but it would probably prevent some situations where chains connect to other ones when you don't want them to.

Regardless, the simple idea of a directional sticky block is insanely exciting. And you could even use Chains to send signals vertically at no lag (up to 16 blocks of course) without the fear of them disconnecting when you try to pull them back down.

I think chains shouldn't stick when pushed sideways. Only when pushed or pulled! That way you can make a long chain appear and disappear out of a ceiling without needing double piston extenders. It just doesn't seem realistic to me that chains that are pushed sideways are able to push blocks.

i think adding a recipe chain+slime ball = sticky chain would be better
