exploding items

When you die to a drowned or anything your items will just explode everywhere and you have to search all over for it and it annoying maybe just make it so that the item only moves like three blocks away and not almost a chunk.

Wha- what? They do this already, and why would you want the game to be more annoying? Why do you want your stuff to be launched everywhere? How would that help you? Just why?

Dork1Muffin, I think you read this wrong. They wanted to make it so the items don't explode everywhere. They didn't want to make it worse.
