Dear Minecrafters,
one of the challenging bits in survival, as you know, is to find certain biomes in the overworld. Many players try to utilize the /locate command or third party apps with the seed of the map to overcome this challenge. However, it would be great if there was more in game support to find certain biomes for a true proper survival experience.
My suggestion is extend the current nether to overworld mapping (1 block traveled in the nether relates to 8 blocks traveled in the overworld) to biomes. So, biomes in the overworld relate to biomes in the nether and vice versa.
You could for example search in the overworld of a birch forest and find a corresponding crimson forest in the nether. Alternatively, you could search in the nether for a soul sand valley and find let's say a swamp at the corresponding coordinates in the overworld. This idea could even be extended to structures: A piglin could rarely drop a map to the next bastion. Creating a portal at the bastion would lead to a woodland mansion on the other side.
For me, this would add to the mystic, bizarre and intertwined connection between the nether and the overworld in a meaningful way, giving adventures more and better options to navigate and explore.
