Yes. In fact, the new items crafted with the nether items should ALL have different textures. This includes furnaces, crafting tables, and the tools. Blackstone tools should still burn though. Fire resistance is reserved for netherite items.

Potentially Blackstone tools could have a type of "effect" where they "shoot embers" at mobs, potentially doing miniscule amounts of damage?

I wanted to post the idea for them to have a different texture and to look cool. This texture difference would have also helped with data packs in mini games. But, not burning in lava would also be cool.

Maybe black stone tools can be better than cobblestone but worse than iron since it’s harder to go to the nether than to just get iron. It would be balanced and make people want to make tools out of it with the ability to be fireproof.

I think that tools should have what they are crafted with, shown. For example, if you craft with blackstone to make an ax or pickaxe or sword or any other tool, then instead of it looking like it was made from stone, instead it should look like it was made from blackstone. giving it different properties...would make it better then stone and that is not what they are going for, But just changing the texture to show that they are crafted with blackstone or stone would just be nice.

but they'd look too much like netherite tools, I say just keep it as stone, after all crimson and warped planks give us brown sticks despite being red/blue but that doesn't mean we need crimson/warped sticks

I completely agree and that anything made from materials in the nether should be fire resistant or float in lava.

It would be nice to have blackstone utensils that don't burn on lava. And for example if I kill a pig there is the percentage that gives me the ribs or the pickaxe that when digging the minerals has a percentage of dropping the ingots without cooking

    What’s blackstone?

I think maybe not burning in lava would be cool but does blackstone burn? If so it wouldnt make sense for the tools not to burn. Plus going all the way for a picaxe thats basically stone just fire resistance is a bit underwhelming, i wouldnt mind if stone tools were lost to lava, maybe make them like gold? Fast but not that durable.

What if Blackstone was slightly better than stone gear? A Blackstone furnace could smelt 1.2 times faster than a regular furnace, for example, and a Blackstone pickaxe could have slightly higher durability and slightly higher mining speed, but be able to mine everything a stone pick can mine. It would just be cool to have something that's slightly better than stone, for example a Blackstone blast furnace and a Blackstone smelter could be slightly faster than their stone counterparts. On a slightly off topic note, similar things could also be done with sticks, crafting tables, and chests (eg have dark oak and warped chests, crafting tables, and sticks)

I like the idea but make them the same as stone but with a different texture and maybe fire/explosion proof.

I think you should be able to upgrade your blackstone tools in the smithing table, with a netherite scrap to make them into a new tool. It could be called netherstone, blackite, or rough netherite tools. These would be blackstone mining level still, but as durable as diamond, and would not burn. Also, the blackstone tools should have a different texture, and the rough netherite tools should be colored like the netherite scrap,

Rather than them not burning in lava, they should mine at gold tool speed but have stone tool durability. I think it should be this way because you wouldn't be making stone tools in the nether unless you are speed running or starting in the nether

I had the same idea, I think this would be a great way to get tools and such if you are deep in the nether and your overworld tools have worn out. I also think these tools should have the efficiency of iron tools but the durability of stone tools.

I don't think these should have any special stats, besides maybe fire proofing if they do exist. That way it doesn't remove incentive to move past them and is simply an alternative stone tier with a slight benefit over regular ones while within the nether.

Add Blackstone tier to the game (and a new kind of Furnace)

    Why?, you wonder.

Well, Blackstone tools would be a new tier of Tools that would be between Stone and Iron. Blackstone is a volcanic rock, and those types of stone are very resistant (exception is obsidian, but in minecraft the natural laws are differtent than ours).

    First, why should be added?

Blackstone tools should be added to give them a difference to Stone ones. Them also would give Minecraft more variety.

Second, what's the advantage to Stone?

Blackstone Tools would mine as faster as Iron, because they are from the Nether. They also would burn in lava, because not all Nether materials need to be inmune to fire or lava.

Third, and the textures? They would be too similar to netherite.

Well, for this part I realize that this part of the idea would be a problem. But Mojang team always find a form to fix problems, and for that I'm relaxed.

    Fourth, and the new Furnace?

Well, this furnace would be exactly the same as a normal one, but with the advantage that it would be a Soul Furnace, a furnace that can smelt all smeltable items & blocks, except food or minerals. We all know that Blast Furnaces and Smokers are upgrades for Furnaces, but the Soul Furnaces would be the missing part of smelting upgrade.

Thanks. Those Ideas can be ugraded and don't need to be included at the Nether Update. I hope that everyone would like this.

    Items & textures:

    - Tools and Soul furnace (I found them on Google Images, and I like the textures)

Ok, I agree it needs a tier. But blackstone tools need to have the same durability and enchantment weight as stone, but the mining speed as iron. I am trying to survive in the nether right now, and I am so tired of having to mine with gold which lasts a few blocks, or mine with stone tools that are as slow as heck. Doing this wouldn’t replace iron, but it would help with trying to live in the nether. Living solely in the nether should be a possibility, and yes it should be hard, but it shouldn’t feel impossible.

It would also make sense the wither skeletons would have blackstone instead of stone swords because there is no regular stone in the nether.

I would like it if blackstone tools had like 10% more durability but slightly slower than normal stone tools.

yes for the distinct color of the tool, because ending up with a grey item when using black material is a little odd. No for the lava proof idea (thats only meant for netheryte)
The could also add blackstone furnaces when theyre at it.
A better functionality could be that it mines nether ores a little faster or more (gold and quarts) and the black furnace smelting them faster
